Green Stormwater Infrastructure

This subarea plan outlines suggestions for implementing green infrastructure and low-impact development (LID) under a Natural Areas, Parks, and Trails section.

The Conceptual Green Infrastructure Plan provides neighborhood goals and policies for trees and forests, street trees, planting circles and parking strips, trees in riparian areas, heritage trees, and invasive plants. It also includes a Tree Canopy Plan.

The Plan Amendment: Natural Drainage Systems provides goals and policies to promote natural drainage strategies, which include rain gardens, bio-retention cells, bioswales, wet ponds, constructed or pocket wetland, infiltration trenches, and permeable pavement.

The subarea plan defines LID and encourages its use for reducing flooding, controlling water quantity, and improving water quality.
