Introducing Planning Concepts to Nonplanners

This audio includes a discussion of Latino urbanism, planning meetings, and the negotiation and collaboration aspect of urban planning. It offers an alternative perspective to traditional planning narratives, which can be helpful in bridging the lived experiences of nonplanners to planning activities and theories. The speaker draws connections between art and planning, specifically how planners can use art methodologies to understand the city and engage local residents. The speaker also discusses the visual and spatial language of the city, and how he uses peoples' physical experiences of navigating a city to inform his work.
