This article investigates the use of community relocation in Grantham, Australia as a tactic for flood hazard mitigation. It examines the context to which community relocation was enacted, the political and planning processes, and its potential application for other coastal communities. The article concludes by offering lessons learned and considerations for the use of this tactic.
