Hazard Mitigation

This article presents an asset-based approach for conducting hazard mitigation and recovery planning. It outlines the procedures and principles of this approach and highlights results from exercises conducted in municipalities throughout Washington State. The article concludes with a discussion on the benefits of this approach and opportunities for its integration in existing hazard mitigation processes.
