Hazard Mitigation

The town’s zoning code establishes a High Flood Danger Overlay District to reduce coastal flood hazards (Appendix A §601). This overlay prohibits all development between the spring high water line and the back barrier flat and requires an environmental impact statement for all development further landward in the district.
