Shared Mobility

This article evaluates the relationship between bike share and existing rail systems and how planning can help strengthen this relationship to achieve broader mobility goals. The authors explore the potential and challenges of bicycle access to transit, and they study the relationship between bike-sharing and transit in Austin, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois. This article also provides a framework to help planning efforts toward integrated transportation systems.
