Shared Mobility

This article discusses the possible benefits of opening the United States’ mobility market to the free-market system with private carriers providing an array of mobility services in response to emerging travel demands. It examines paratransit and micromobility services within and outside the country, seeing them as privately owned, market-responsive services with the potential of meeting the need of America's diverse and disperse traveling public. The author of this paper also explores solutions to first and last-mile connections to transit stations and reiterates the potential of small vehicles to close transportation gaps.
