Shared Mobility

This blog post discusses possible solutions to existing barriers in access to newer mobility services by older adults and transportation users with disabilities. It presents and offers solutions to three main accessibility barriers:

• Most app-based vehicles are physically inaccessible to those in wheelchairs.
• App-based mobility services are usually not accessible to the unbanked.
• Most app-based services are tailored to smartphones, making the services inaccessible to some groups.
