Urban Heat Resilience

This functional plan discusses the impacts of climate change on the community and includes strategies to address the city’s vulnerability to these risks. Some of its recommendations include improving the communication of heat-related risks (PH-3-C), updating the asphalt engineering standards and maintenance practices to increase resiliency to higher temperatures (PH-4-C), and supporting efforts to educate healthcare providers on heat-related illness (PH-5-E).
