This report explores strategies and policies for climate resiliency in urban areas, focusing on social equity. It redefines climate resilience as integrating climate change mitigation, adaptation, and a deep democracy approach that puts frontline communities at the center of climate action. And it explores six strategic pathways where efforts can advance climate action:
- Build Power, Expand Democracy, Increase Community Voice and Transform Place;
- Craft a Narrative Strategy that Moves the Message and Builds the Climate Resilience Constituency;
- Create a New Economy for the New Climate Reality;
- Advance the Climate Resilience Legal and Policy Agenda;
- Strengthen Regionalism and Bioregional Identity; and
- Align and Expand Movement Infrastructure Building.
