This blog post is the first of a two-part series that addresses climate change and indigenous communities in the United States. It discusses how federal policies contributed to indigenous communities’ vulnerability to climate change impacts and how these communities are implementing diverse solutions to respond to these issues. The second part of this series provides examples of how tribal communities leverage knowledge to protect their people and resources.
