Transit-Oriented Development

This model ordinance provides communities with a resource for encouraging development that takes advantages of transit access and helps increase transit ridership. It provides an overview of transit-oriented development and describes the five types of station areas and new building types and land use that is most appropriate for each station area. It also provides design elements and best practices for TOD projects. Additionally, it also provides model ordinance language that communities can use to adopt TOD.
