Artificial Intelligence and Planning

This report highlights the use of text analysis and natural language processing to automate the data collection process for zoning codes. The study used the Connecticut Zoning Atlas as its test subject. The study found there is a lack of standardization of zoning documents which makes it hard to ensure accuracy. There are opportunities for a hybrid model to reduce the human effort needed.
