Ann Ruzow Holland, Ph.D. works with governments, non-profit organizations, universities, and businesses as a freelance consultant and advisor. She provides a range of services: strategic planning, organizational, and project management, Mixed Methods research, facilitation, and event management. A solid multidisciplinary background in applied environmental and political science, government, leadership, and planning blend well to add value to collaborative research, community projects, and conservation programs. Ann has been an advocate for the Adirondack Park, Lake Champlain, and the Northern Forest for many years. She has collaborated with federal and state agencies to bring financial and technical resources to local communities. Ann founded, and then for 21 years acted as executive director of Friends of the North Country, Inc., an Adirondack nonprofit recognized as a leader in sustainable development. She started up her consulting practice and has successfully operated the company for more than twelve years. Holland is also considered a Master grant writer. Ann has special experience working as a project liaison for multi-million dollar green technology projects, as a GASB advisor, and a multi-disciplinary subject-matter-expert in her field. Some have called her a lightning rod—her outlook is long term and progressive. An uncanny talent for troubleshooting, and a strong work ethic enable her to step in and create order from chaos. The result has been good management of economic, environmental, and community projects and programs to the benefit of Adirondack and North Country communities.
