APA's City Parks Forum project centered on a series of symposia held across the country, each highlighting park projects in a variety of U.S. cities and producing case studies.

This case study focuses on the revitalization of Buck Boyle Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Allentown and its park system were the products of grand visionaries who held great aspirations for their "Park Place" of Pennsylvania. But Boyle Park began to deteriorate in the 1950s, a slide that continued through the decades. A collaborative planning process began in 2000 with a catalyst grant from the City Parks Forum. Boyle Park was at the forefront of a larger downtown revitalization project, Lehigh Landing.
