Welcome (Planning) Home
America is in a housing affordability crisis. Communities of all sizes need more varied housing — in more varied places — to create better opportunities for everyone. At APA, we believe today's housing challenge demands new tools and better planning.
Enter Planning Home, APA's housing initiative to reshape the way planners, decision makers, developers, and advocates use planning to address housing affordability. Planning Home will test our ability to plan, work, and achieve together.
The multiyear effort encompasses communications, education, policy, and research. Earlier this year, the APA Board of Directors approved a slate of housing principles that frame the Planning Home action agenda. Work is already under way with national and regional partners to develop planning resources and strategies that will equip communities to address changing demographics and needs.
Explore the Planning Home webpages for details about the initiative, our action agenda, and how you can be involved. Keep checking back because there's much more to come. Together, we can put local communities on a path to truly inclusive prosperity. |
